Public Schools
Arlington is one of the most diverse counties in the nation. Its school system is no exception, with students hailing from nearly 130 countries in its 30+ schools.
Though Arlington is one of the smallest counties in Virginia, its school system is the 15th largest among the Commonwealth’s 132 school districts. In 2009, the Newsweek/Washington Post Challenge Index listed all of Arlington’s high schools in the top .5% in the nation. Additionally, 94% of the county’s parents gave their child’s school an “A” or a “B” (compared to 46% nationally).
